It seems fairly obvious that the Israeli National Library is using legal shenanigans to try to steal something that doesn't belong to it. Talk about living up to a stereotype. Also, I'm surprised that an Israeli court has jurisdiction to order the seizing or inspection of safety deposit boxes in Switzerland -- those Swiss banks just aren't what they used to be. Pretty sick that after they failed in their legal efforts to take the old woman's property while she was alive, they waited for her to die and then pounced on her estate.

I heard in some horrible countries like Iran and North Korea people are doing medical research on mice, and they even take animal skins and wear them for clothing!!!! OH THE HORROR!!!! It's sad, but Celiac's disease is one of those peculiar illnesses that quacks, hucksters, dimwits, and hypochondriacs swarm to. This makes life difficult for the small minority of "sufferers" who actually have the disease. With many such diseases the reason why is obvious, the disease is poorly defined and almost anyone can be led to believe that they have it -- in the case of Celiac disease this is less clear, the diagnosis through intestinal biopsy is pretty empirical and standard, but there has been a proliferation of individuals claiming to have the disease without actually having had the intestinal biopsy necessary to accurately diagnose it.

I find it extremely difficult to believe there was ever a time in the history of the English language when such a large majority of English speakers around the world pronounced 'often' without the -t sound that pronouncing it with the -t sound would be considered incorrect. If the -t sound had been so completely discarded in the usage of the word, then why would the t have been included when spellings were standardized in the 19th Century? This seems like mostly an ignorant Americanism found in some US dictionaries in the 20th Century and repeated as a premise in this case. I feel certain I have seen many movies from the '30s and '40s where the word 'often' is pronounced with a -t sound...... The most common way I have ever heard this word pronounced by anyone includes the -t sound, it is just cut off in the mouth in a way that makes it almost entirely disappear, more of a stop, but if you asked the person to pronounce the word slowly they would say the -t, not say "offffahhhhhnnnn" -- i can't imagine ANYONE except some backwoods hillbillies saying it that way when asked to pronounce the word as slowly as possible...

Imagine if corporate scum made commercials like this with an interest in having a positive influence on society rather than trying to exploit people's basest and most primitive instincts in order to push product.

Capitalism is only an efficient system, even in theory, when anti-trust is policed and enforced conscientiously. That hasn't happened in the US since Teddy Roosevelt, and it hasn't happened in most of the rest of the capitalist world -ever-. The last big anti-trust enforcement in the US was the break-up of the AT&T telephone monopoly in the 1980s, which resulted in an immediate drop in calling prices and an explosion in telephone technology and services available to consumers. Lucky it took "only" seventy years of gross inefficiency and wasted resources for that destructive monopoly to finally be broken up....

The sad thing is that anything which would actually be useful for reducing pollution, such as transitioning to an alcohol fuel standard which is old technology and would be extremely easy, is of course NOT championed by the greenies, because they don't want real solutions they just want to feel righteous about something and look down on other people. Fill up my environment with solar panels and windmills -- who are the real polluters again? Greenies want to pollute the earth on an industrial scale that even the robber baron industrialists of the 19th Century would never have imagined or considered acceptable. But what's a little massive dose of hypocrisy here and there?
