Agreed. I get emails at work like they are instant messenges. Some of them require a glance, some require a short response, and some by necessity must be flagged and put in my tasks folder for processing. And forget archiving and deleting emails, I search it too much. The response to almost every email is hidden in my 40k previous emails. The timeline of some of my projects can be 12 months past or future, so searching emails becomes important when trying to figure out what I promised a customer and exactly when or what a vendor promised me and when. Also, having an external to-do list means more work keeping up with another list, no thanks!

I often wondered why there weren't more of these guys out there. The torque of electric motors is no secret. It's guys like this that are going to push the industry just like gaming pushed the computer industry.

Pop is pop because it's popular not because it's interesting. It's easy to sing along to; catchy for the masses of people that still confuse music with magic. Tiring for anyone who studies music, is creative, or can recognize patterns.

My brother has red hair and I have a red beard. Kids will torture a redhead, but I don't know many adults that would mess with one. Only stupid ones. Being red as a kid isn't fun but it makes you tough and builds character.

@ seek & sw - Mike Birbiglia, he has rapid eye movement behavior disorder (RBD)

You've got to be suspicious about peoples stories, but people get drunk and blackout all the time. I partake on occasion. Every once in a while I'll have too much, get in bed next to my girlfriend, and the next thing I know she's waking me up in some strange corner of the house. I've been waken up sitting tables, on the floor right next to the bed, on the cold kitchen tile with no pillow or blanket, or even in the closet. It wouldn't be hard for me to imagine having some friends over, letting them crash in the guest room and me waking up next to them instead of where I originally went to bed.

For one unlucky native, the arrival of fast food to the Hawaiian seafloor meant restricted blood flow to the lips and premature male pattern baldness.

Let's not forget Man or Astroman, the band most famous for the Mystery Science Theater 3000 "love song". They recorded a song "a simple text file" on their album Spectrum of Infinite Scale. They played it by, well, printing a simple text file through a dot matrix printer that they lugged around many live events. I could not find a decent vid or MP3 to share.

Thier shows were fun, the grand finale was normally a couple blasts of lightning from their 6' Tesla Coil that looked amazingly like this "http://www.mgvolt.com/tesla_coil/tesla-coil-sparks5.jpg"

I work with a lot of companies helping them to meet the LEED standards for certification. Some people might think it is oxymoronic to park fossil fuel burning cars in a "green" building, but the simple fact is that these types of buildings, along with factories and office buildings, are not going away. Our "developed" countries and economies need them to feed the machine. The more you can do to each property to make it environmentally friendly the better it is not only for the environment and health, but operating cost and assett value. A lot of property managers and plant managers see the initial overhead of an upfit and don't consider the savings in monthly heating and cooling costs and electricity, not to mention tax benefits and zoning allowances. People should get used to this type of thing, it's only goint to get more and more popular if not obligatory.

See you've got me habitually commenting now that I have a username.

Alex you didn't say what your first language is and I might have missed it on any of your previous posts.

Do you drink scotch? What's your favorite?

I am 30 and live in NC. I can't tell you exactly where because I'm a traveling salesman. That's the truth. I drive everyday, 1000-2000 miles a week. I have a friend in every city I go to who will let me crash on his/her couch. We smoke and drink scotch the night away. Then I get up, shower, and I'm on my merry way. My laptop is about the only thing that is always with me, besides suitcase in the trunk. I'm online everywhere, so I check N-O-R for coffee in the morning, lunch, random reading in the afternoon.

I get a lot of my drinking stories from here. "Did you know that the holes in swiss are called eyes?" Best pick up line ever.

I've been a lurker for a few years, you are a random fact machine, I love it. I don't know why I didn't register sooner, but I got my username yesterday, just in time for our introductions.

Alex, I love this blog, I have to tell you that I check it five times a day for updates. I have no complaints other than the fact that I seem to check it more often than you update, but I understand.
