They didn't answer their own question. The real reason is that "B" batteries had higher voltage (~45V) needed for plate voltage in vacuum tube radios. "C" cells were originally for tube biasing. "A" cells were for the tube filaments (heaters). Transistorized electronics can work at lower voltages, don't have filaments, and don't need a separate bias supply. Sorry so technical, but it is the only reason we no longer have "B" battreies.

Mad About You had a great episode (Giblets for Murray) in which the turkey was eaten by the dog. Then a replacement from a deli was stolen, and another replacement went out the window. It also dealt with the in-laws' conflicting traditions.

The radiation emitted by a microwave oven is about the same frequency (but much lower in amplitude) as a mobile phone. Technically, EVERYTHING emits radiation ALL the time (infrared). In the video, using the warning sign for hazardous IONIZING radiation is either ingnorance or scare mongering.

When I removed a medicine cabinet, I found a rude comment some guy wrote about a fellow builder. It's funny how something like that makes you feel connected to the people who built your home.

I have extensively researched The Simpsons by watching most of the shows and I can state that Springfield is nowhere and everywhere. It has the weather and geographic features which suit each episode's requirements. The show even makes fun of not letting us know where it is. I don't understand why it matters to anyone. Go 'topes!

I install and maintain this type of outdoor camera for TV stations. This happens a lot because the cameras are in waterproof housings which have an overhang over the little window. They have little wipers/washers but the wipers just stretch the web, causing the spider to get busy fixing it. One camera was so bad we added insecticide to the washer fluid reservoir.
