Twpk- Have you ever thought about from what elements water (H2O) is made up.....? So no- that list is correct on that part. The oxygen-part is correct and the Hydrogen-part is correct.

...Now will they also try to return this lost property to the rightful owners being the still living relatives of the one who put it there in the first place like that watch was found in an old wreck and that recently was returned to relatives...?

So on any ship woth lots of electricity, soon they don't need all the hassle with the cables and hoses from supplyships? That is neat. Navy goes science fiction. :-)

One alias gives 30 scrolls of info, all NOT about me.
My main alias that I use here gives 29 scrolls all related to that rockband.
My real name gives 2 scrolls with information about fascinating people with Glorious careers that are definitely not mine...

So I'm safe. :-)

Skipweasel- Most of the Netherlands (about two thirds) are below sealevel, with at it's lowest a polder that is some 25ft below sealevel. Over the centuries there were some floodings that all in all have cost well over 10.000 lives. The last big one was in 1953 and happened all around the North Sea in Great Brittain, the Netherlands and in parts of Belgium and Germany. Alone in the Netherlands it caused some 1800 deaths. People still live there and it is one of the best money generating pieces of land in the whole world.

... So should we then just desert those parts of the land...?
One flood in New Orleans and we just decide to call it quits and walk away...? Forget it- New Orleans is worth way to much to just let it drown- That would about cause the bankruptcy and destruction of the whole of the United States.

If I understand the defense-projects around New Orleans a little bit, it seems that the Brainz have come up with some scheme of interlocking systems. This pump is only one small piece of that puzzle. That whole system SHOULD be made such that if one piece fails, the others can compensate for the loss without endangering the whole system.

It is very nice to see that even in 2009, we still have enough phenomenons in the world that we live in that we still do not fully understand. :-)

...Okay, some of the unexplained things here are a bit on the edge of "unexplained" and "understandable" -like said human combustion, the upward discharges from clouds during storms, the light-phenomenons just before nad during earthquakes and the animal-rainfalls- Nothing fancy about them- only just not yet fully prooven down to the last drop, atom, inch.

Reminds me a bit of a medieval raincap that falls over the shoulders. Does it also have a long tail at the back of the head?

Anyhow I think this is a Huge improvement on the umbrella that has deadly dangerous pointy things that give especially ladies completely legit means to blind and mortally wound innocent bystanders...

Again, but now at zoomba- Read.

This was in Nineteen Fifty Nine.

Back then there were no mobile phones yet. And not everyone had telephone in their own house- To expensive and if you could afford one, you'd have that one installed in your shop, like this dude. And even if he had applied for a telephone in his house, he'd most likely was placed on a waitinglist for the next 2 or 3 years. And so he probably had to go to the nearest phonebooth.

Ach ja, usere Flacktürme... Wie schön. ;-)

I'd say don't demolish them- In about 40 years historians will say that these remaining towers are part of the evolution of defensive structures all through history- Perhaps even the pinnacle of static defensive structures like the world will never see afterwards.
