Funny- In my local newspaper they only talk about the 5kg's of gold. The silver is not mentioned at all.

But some guy will have had a Very Bad Day back then that he couldn't reclaim all that wealth.......

The ironic thing about this new find of water on the moon is that it will spur ways to filter out tiny quantities of substances more than any other need here on Earth. And tech is that exactly what we need to fight pollution on our own planet.

There are lots of scenario's to put lots of polluting industries outside our planet on the moon. This would benefit the ecology on our own planet greatly, since we are still developing more and more toxic needs to do the things we want to in our drive to get more and more technically developed.

So the word "seems" is the defining one, because in fact it is not.

Zenno the amount of water on the moon is so low that they speak of 32 OUNCES of water per 1 TON of dirt.
And so they say that is far less than even in the driest desertplace anywhere on Earth.

So that is like far worse than looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack- That is like looking for the broken pinhead... So on Earth if you measure that kind of amount of almost any substance, you have to triple or even more often chack if you by accident did not slightly contaminate your measuring equipment.

It is even said that with current state of technology it is about near to impossible to win that water from the Moon-soil. Ooky, it is there. but most of our current equipment is far too cumbersome and not refined to get it.

And yet it is important and there will be use for it some day, because even that tiny amount of water would cost a Fat Bundle if we would have to haul it up from Earth all the way to Moon-surface.

Well.... The idea that the "Free West" is fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to bring Freedom and All Curing Democracy against the Villains with long beards is just a tiny bit beside reality- That is just the Public Relations-postcard picture that is projected to us taxpaying citizens so that we can sleep comfortably and kill over there when asked to.

We don't bring freedom and peace- in fact since we went there, all hell has broken loose on a scale that is far worse than when we were not there.

The only reason why we went there is because we have to protect our economic interests. All the other given reasons are just beautiful lies.

The reaon any soldier out there fights like there is no tomorrow is because his or her government is his or her Boss and he or she has signed a contract to obey. And the moment the soldier goes into battle the only thing that counts is to stay alive, to keep his or her brothers alive and to shoot as many enemies as possible so they cannot harm him or her and his or her brothers as long as the Tour takes. And then there is a small bit of adrenaline and sensation to fill the rest. And that's all. Most soldiers I spoke out there totally forgot the Bigger Motives- They just fought for their lives and to keep their sanity. And any Bigger Motive only came back well after the fight.

I always believed that drunks survive horrible falls and accidents because they are like loose puppets. That it was the flexibility, the just not really resisting that made them somehow stay more or less in one piece.

Skipweasel so far the Russian system by far is the harshest- There it doesn't even get into the news if recruits die in bootcamp- that's just considered occupational hazard over there.

In the Dutch Special Forces training the instructors aim to eliminate about 80% of the fresh recruits. So that is how hard they play. If you talk to the Israeli's, you also get a picture of well... Military bliss that is sometimes just literally killing to its recruits. It still seems to be a very effective way to get soldiers ready and capable by training them the hard way to give them wwhat it takes to survive hard battle.

But I know that all over the Western world the wihitecoats and the military instructors are looking very hard for better ways than just brutally and by force submitting recruits into toughness and resilliance. They figure that in this day and age of psychological know-how and new instructional techniques there's got to be better ways than just bashing and shouting abuse.

As far as my own training went- Those recruits who could stand the pressures of the harsh drill instructors, 9 out of 10 also prooved to be the guys that were worth something in battle and who helped their group to survive. Those who nearly didn't make it through those batterings lots of times just failed when push came to shove. So in the end I am glad for those horrible drill instructors- I know I owe some of them my life.

Almost every geek that I knew during my days of University knew this message by heart. I wasn't one of them, but I do remember the vivid conversations larded with lots of wine and beer and Wodka and unhealthy food and drugs on what reply we would inevitably get some day...

This was in this one little corner of the world during only about 4-5 years and it involved the about 50-odd geeks that came into my sphere of student-existance about 15-20 years ago.

I gather that this same thing has happened all over the world since that message was broadcasted, with geeks-groups all over the world talking and fantasising about this message and the possible reply.
And so at some point some of these geeks must have linked up with the Funnyheads that make fools out of the Cropcircle-experts and in 2001 the Ultimate Joke came into being- They made The Answer.
And since then it is Partytime and they still smile knowingly while still after all this time following the discussions on the different forums, perhaps even now and then adding some spark to some discussion t keep it alive...

Every start in new technology is cumbersome, big and slow.

But if this idea really takes off I see a future where these blocks get so fast that you'll be able to run and jump on them without falling off. And then the first true outlines of the holo-deck become visible.

Coming years we'll see these blocks getting faster and faster. And they'll also get smaller and smaller upto a point where in the end after some decades of development you'll see a kind of nano-blocks that make kind of a semi-"fluid" surface that can accomodate multiple users on the same surface.

Combine this technology with virtual-touch-suits, VR-headsets and Wii-tech and you get a whole new sensation with those games and training-equipments that are out there...

A FUNCTIONAL cello out of these blocks???

Mán...!

I only got as far as making the smallest possible working technical working models of constructions I wanted to make in other materials and I thought I was Tha Man for showing that what I dreamt up just was possible...

...And here comes this dude and he just makes the real working thing straight from these blocks like there's nothing to it...

Mán... Deep Respect!

Thx mr English Teacher- I overlooked that one - Well, I must admit, my foreign (from most likely your standpoint at least) language hand-writing skills outdo my English even on keyboard by far. ;-)

...And look what I wrote as a last sentence of my first entry...? "Cursive? Only if lots of curls and adornments are added."

...By now I understand that I then thread the domain of Calligraphy and that my both brainhalves communicate in overdrive...

...So wrote I at home on my Padd in Karolingian minuscule... :-)
