Well, evolution favors all species that can florish in this environment, not just humans. For example, roaches. Or cows (since they are easy to control by humans, and also delicious, their survival is prety much ensured by the behavior of the most savvy predator - man).
Anyhow, to answer Gatorlands' question (even though I think he meant it rhetorically :P) - they 'get off' thinking that because they are human. All species think they are the most important speciece, and all indiviuals animals think they are the most important animal of that speciecs. At least, by base instince. Humans, and other animals (notably, mother mammals) have show to value the lives of other individuals above their own. This can cross species too, if the animal views the other as something it needs to protect. (Like a dog who adopts a kitten, or a human and it's pet).
But the *general* species imperitive is "MY species first, and ME first among them." It's just how living things work (on Earth, at least). Sure, we can praise people who rise above this (and should), but to be angry at the very nature of life is... well... futile.

When I saw the title, I was wary - I thought maybey the father was in denial and dragging his kid around. But after watching the video, and learning that the kid was actually quite aware, communicating, and the one who came up with the idea of racing - well, I have to agree that it's a very neat thing.

@ D Bozko -
As much as I hate frivilous lawsuits, the problem with 'loser pays costs' it that it turns justice into gambling game and favors those who can affort to take the risk. Obviously some people with valid cases will lose.
We can't come to a point where people have a valid reason to sue, but don't because they can't afford to take the chance. Then justice will only be for the rich.

this is annoying. I have sympathy for people with weight problems. I think a lot of people struggle with it.
But this is really really stupid. They shoudln't be paid to be overweight, and they CAN do something about it.

I saw a guy leaving a building, as viewed from above. (the square is the door, and the semicircle is just the building's doormat).

the problem with the whole collection is that they sound like they are aiming for exadurated deep south or valley california (almost 80s movies-ish). Even people I've spoken to in Texas/Carolina/etc and Califoria (when I worked in a call center) didn't sound THAT over-the-top. :P
still, it's better than I could do trying an english accent. (or any accent for that matter other than a few American regions).

One of my pet peves is when people use "Ordinary" as a rhyme with "Extrordianry"! It's the same word with 'extra' on the front, and thus not even a real rhyme! (and in commercials, at least, the announcer says it like it's an amazing and clever wordplay).

As for Vonskippy's comment, I found it entertaining. (although, dogs *really* don't 'learn quicker' than teens, they just have much less of an ability to ignore their 'programing'.) :)
