I'm glad I'm not the only one who hyperventilates a little when they see books cut up and folded that way. LOL! Those are really interesting.

That's awful! First we ruin our great relationship with our dogs by treating them like kids and now we mess with primates.

When I was twelve, my mother thought it was very important for me to see Schindler's List because it brought to life the truth of human evil. It was a hard movie to see because it hid very little, but it also allowed my mother and me to have a long conversation as to why it is terribly important to remember the atrocities of the past in order to recognize and stop atrocities of the present.

I can not tell you how many times we have had to go over how to get onto the internet with my grandmother. It is a simple point and click sort of deal and, yet, when we go over there every week she asks us to show her how to get on. Frankly, she's a total technophobe and I am shocked she's even giving this a try so you have to give her mad props for trying something so new in her late 70's.

This is my 3 year-old's favorite video on you tube. Every time I get on the internet she asks to see it. (I rather like it, too.)

The things that Disney does these days often makes me want to throw up. The whole putting the Disney characters where they belong crap is just that, crap. When did whimsy and simple pleasure become passe? What, have they now decided that the jungle ride isn't "Disneyfied" enough and they feel the need to replace the real looking animals with characters from the Lion King? More isn't always better, just more.

I have to admit that, for our wedding night, my husband and I stayed in the 50's suite at the Fantasy Inn in Reno, NV. Our bed was a a '57 Chevy convertible and it had the most awesome shower which took up one end of the room and had 6 shower heads. It was a lot of fun despite the cheese-tastic aspects of it.

How come all of the cases of Mowgli Syndrome I have heard about come out of Russia? Maybe I just haven't heard of enough, but I worry for the society there (and I'm being serious here).

There should be a qualifier in the question. Will the money go towards giving a beloved pet three quality months or just three more months? I love my pets and would do a lot for them, but I refuse to put forward a lot of money just so that [i]I[/i] could have his/her company for a number of months more. I think that pet owners can enter the realm of selfishness when they prolong a beloved pet's suffering just to eek out a couple months or even a year of company.

Surprisingly, the Challenger explosion was one of my first bigger-world memories. I was four and a half, but I clearly remember watching the news on the television and seeing tapes of the explosion. Being four, it didn't really mean a whole lot to me other than it upset my mother, but I do remember it.

It takes sloths an inordinately long time to drown because of their slow metabolisms. They are actually really good swimmers, it just takes them long time to get where they are going. (Thank you Animal Planet!)
