Kill Monger was a sympathetic villain that you really could feel for. You really couldn't argue that he wasn't justified in wanting to use Wakanda to help the oppressed. I'm not really sure that Thanos is sympathetic. I'm really don't think that Thanos made a really good case for getting rid of half the universe.
