My niece and I actually just read a short essay about this woman, Ruth Wakefield, who was the person who created these signature cookies by accident at her inn she owned with her husband... the Toll House Inn :) And Nestle was the company she cut a deal with for chocolate bars. She is also the reason that chocolate bars are now scored (lines cut in them) to make them easier to break into regular pieces.

I live in Salt Lake City, and we've had shirts around for a couple of years that have the city skyline and then it says SL,UT on them... of course the comma is very small...

I took a semester of letterpress at the University of Utah, and it was hands down my favorite class I have ever taken. It's so intimate and detail oriented. When you see that block of text held together with string, you have no idea how heartbreaking it can be when that string unravels and you lose your entire block and you have to start over. Or you do your first proof and all your apostrophes are facing the wrong direction. But once something is done and it's in your hand, it is the most satisfying artwork I have ever created, and that's even including basic printing...

Doesn't this remind anyone of the weird attack ball from the British tv series "The Prisoner"?

Although it seems to me that a person would just be breathing their own carbon dioxide filled exhalations, get totally light headed and eventually pass out, although then the giant balloon gives an added bonus by the fact that they might not get a concussion while doing so, just land face first at a 90 degree angle to the floor (picture 2).

No one ever mentions that the PC is played by John Hodgman, the hilarious author of "Areas of my Expertise", a Senior Correspondent on The Daily Show and a regular contributor to This American Life.

And if you can't tell, I have a little nerdy crush on him.
