I've played about halfway through this game now. Don't expect the full Super Mario Bros. experience out of this one (if you're looking for that, you'll be much happier with New Super Mario Bros. on the DS) but as a relatively light platformer with a decent (if throwaway) story behind it, it's not bad.
There's a building in downtown Seattle that seems similar in concept (with the building on top of a narrow "pedestal" base), although not nearly as radical in design. It's called the Rainier Tower, and it's been there since 1977. A picture can be found at the link below:
Anyone else here get a Google ad on top of the page advertising discounts on rooms at the Stardust? I don't think I'm too inclined to take them up on it at this point...
