Jello has rolled out limited edition holiday flavors for its instant pudding: candy cane and gingerbread. My first reaction: why not just eat candy canes and gingerbread? I'm not sure whether this is ingenious or just sad. For just $9.59, you can get a complete Christmas dinner in a "HotCan," which heats itself.
When it’s time for your festive feast, simply remove the rubber cap, pierce the holes, open the insulated can and try not to drool on yourself as a totally safe exothermic reaction heats up your Christmas chow in about 12 minutes. We’ve heard of convenience food but this is ridiculous. Mmm…Turkey casserole with all the trimmings.
To be fair, the HotCans come in several varieties, and are marketed toward wilderness campers. And you don't have to wait until Christmas day to eat it. Link

By adding 180 millileters of cough syrup to 1 liter of ice cream, the crew at Unwholesome Foods made this base for a great looking sundae. How does the ice cream taste? All four members say that it tastes like cough medicine. So the experiment worked, but not to good effect.

We've all heard about the Hostess bankruptcy, which is largely related to a labor dispute, but as it turns out, a judge has managed to get the union leaders and Hostess corporate leaders to agree to participate in mediation sessions. There's no guarantee that the discussions will stop the dispute, but at least there's a chance we might get to keep our Twinkies now.

Chefs can pull some mean pranks on their friends, this one even a novice chef could pull off. All you need is a piece of cardboard, some eggs, bread crumbs and flour, something to fry it in, some sandwich garnishes, and some hungry gullible friends.
As the only one in my apartment that knows anything about cooking (like the difference between sauteing and pan searing) I am often asked to cook food for others. Design students Laurent Beirnaert, Pierre Bouvier, and Paul Tubiana created "Oncle Sam," a machine that pops popcorn one kernel at a time. It can even butter and salt each individual kernel! Walt Disney World’s Food and Wine Festival recently took place and to celebrate, Disney pasty chefs created these amazing sculptures from Ghirardelli chocolate. In order to keep the statues safe, they were encased in a specialy designed air-conditioned display to prevent them from melting.
