Playing Star Wars in Public

These guys got a little too excited when they found new lightsabers for sale, so they had to take it outside. And the fun was only beginning! But they kept getting hassled. It turns out that "We're making a YouTube video" doesn't excuse everything.

Reasons Why Sports Fans And Anime Fans Are The Same Thing

People who are obsessed with sports like to think of themselves as something other than geeky, but the truth is anyone who is obsessed with something to that degree is a geek.

Geeks are proud to be geeky, while sports fans act macho and make fun of geeks even though they also dress up in costumes, cry when their favorite character leaves the show.

They also can't perform any of the feats they see on the screen, even though they really wish they could- just like an anime geek.

If you know a rabid sports fan who is in denial about their geeky nature show them this comic strip by Charles Higson and convince them once and for all there's very little difference between their nerdy passion and yours.

None Of That!

Working as a security guard in a museum seems like a sweet gig, and if the Night At The Museum series has any truth to it spending the night inside an empty museum can also be quite a magical experience.

But when some holier-than-thou do-gooder sneaks into your museum and tries to censor the artistic nudes your magical mystery shift turns into a night in hell.

None Of That is another great animated short from the Ringling College of Art and Design with a perfect punchline that'll make you say "holy crap that's funny!".

Training for Star Wars

There's more to saving the galaxy than delivering your lines. If you're going to be in a Star Wars film, you're probably going to have to fight someone at some time. That requires physical stamina, choreography, and lots of training.

(YouTube link)

In this behind-the-scenes video from Star Wars, Daisy Ridley, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, John Boyega, and Adam Driver talk about the extra time they had to put in just getting ready for the more physical scenes in The Last Jedi. So we know who's going to do the fighting, although that's not what you'd call a surprising spoiler. Don't miss Ridley whacking herself in the head with her staff. -via Tastefully Offensive

That's One Way To Get People To Go To Your Tea Party

When my sister was a kid she used to have a hard time finding real life friends to come to her tea party so she would sit down with her stuffed animals and the cat, which was a good enough guest list for her most of the time.

My dad and I were available if she insisted on having a human at her tea party so she never had to use the Dark Arts to summon guests, which was lucky for us because brimstone stains are really hard to get out of the carpet! (Comic by War And Peas)

Freddy, Jason and Chucky Star In Two And A Half Slashers

In some ways Chucky can be seen as the little brother to all the older and more experienced slashers, and if he had to choose two big brothers to guide him down his bloody path he'd probably choose Freddy and Michael Myers.

And since these two bloody idols have never tangled on film it's possible that they're long lost brothers, the perfect fiendish fellows to show a shrimpy little creep like Chucky how to cut grown-ups down at the knees.

Emojis That Look Completely Different On Different Smartphones

Emojis are either a really cool feature for messaging apps or a dumb and useless gimmick depending on who you ask, but the fact that we're all using smartphones these days means we see emojis all the time.

And even though people love to argue about discuss what certain emojis actually mean they should really be discussing why each phone company has to have a different look for their emojis.

Don't they know their interpretation of these emojis will only end up fueling further debate about what each emoji actually means?

Here are two examples that show how some companies (mainly Samsung) seem to miss the point entirely with their versions of popular emojis:

1. FACE WITH ROLLING EYES

3 different face with rolling eyes emojis from Apple, Google, and Samsung

Apple: Way to miss the point.
Google: Ugh. Oh boy. Nice one. NOT!
Samsung: Heh, heh. Neato.

2. SNAKE

3 different snake emojis from Apple, Google, and Samsung

Apple: Beware!
Google: Beware?
Samsung: Aww. Snakey-poo.

Illustrator Re-Imagines The Stranger Things Characters As Adorable Figurines

Even though Will, Eleven, Dustin and the rest of the Stranger Things crew have proven they're way tougher than the average tweens they're also a bunch of cuties, which makes them the perfect subjects for a line of toys.

And even though a line of Stranger Things Funko Pop and action figures have been released these toys fail to capture the characters' cuteness as well as these concept models created by Venezuelan designer Chocotoy.

The Chocotoy version of Dustin is so adorable you just wanna pinch his cheeks and give him a big ol' hug, just like the real life version, and even though Eleven looks a bit bizarre her bitchin' nature still shines through.

Going To Conventions - Expectations Vs. Reality

Fandom conventions are such a big deal these days the internet can't stop buzzing about them all, and if you look at all the pics online you'll start to believe these Cons are magical affairs where a nerd's dreams can come true.

But as soon as you arrive at your first major convention you realize the crowds and the lines are going to kill most of your time- and kill your drive to attend another Con.

The stories also claim Cons are a great place to meet your favorite comic creators, but you know what happens when "we discover that our idols are very ordinary men and women".

This colorful comic by JHALL will show you what to actually expect when you're Con bound, and while the expectations hardly ever match the reality you'll still love that Con feel if you just embrace the pain.

Cartoon Network Artist Draws Strange Comics For People With A Strange Sense Of Humor

Some comic strips make a little too much sense, with observations that hit the nail right on the head and give us those "that's what I was thinking!" moments, but sometimes a straight up silly comic is just what we need to unwind.

And no comic serves up simple silliness and radical ridiculousness quite like Nathan Bulmer's strip Eat More Bikes, because Nathan leaves the astute observational humor to the astuter observers and just points out the obvious.

Nathan has worked for Dreamworks, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network so you know his drawing skills are tight, but he doesn't need tight skills to create Eat More Bikes, he just needs to keep coming up with silly jokes that blow us away.

Basically Every MMO Ever

MMOs come in all kinds of different play styles, genres and artistic looks for the character designs but they all seem to have two things in common- too many dungeons that require a group and too few female players.

This lack of a female presence makes the male gamer masses go crazy every time they think another player is a girl, which makes the game annoying for females to play and therefore continues the cycle of male domination in MMOs.

So if you're like me and feel MMOs could use more female players then please encourage your buddies to stop acting the fool when they encounter a girl in game, because MMOs could use some new blood and a fresh female perspective! (Comic by Rustled Jimmies)

Watch Epic NPC Man Season By Season With These Supercuts

The web series NPC Man has been showing us how strange the world of video games can be for quite some time now, and since there are five seasons of the series it's easy to miss an episode or two, even though each episode is less than five minutes long.

(YouTube Link)

But Viva La Dirt League, the creators of Epic NPC Man, don't expect their audience to jump through hoops and go on long and agonizing quests to find every episode- they'd rather serve up some full season supercuts so you can watch it all with ease!

(YouTube Link)

I've presented the first and fifth season supercuts here for your enjoyment, and if you like the series head to their YouTube channel to watch the rest. It's well worth the price of admission!

Cyanide And Happiness Presents "Green Light"

It always makes me feel weird when people say "someone up there is looking out for you" because I never know who they're talking about and I'm afraid to ask because I don't know if they're religious or not and I don't want to start a whole thing.

But if they're not talking about God then who is "up there" and why is he or she "looking out for you"? That's a fair question, right? I mean, what are they getting out of the deal?

This Cyanide and Happiness comic come to life has an explanation, but you're probably not going to like it...

The Passenger

Passengers expect to ride in comfort when they take the train, especially when it's going to be a long trip, but they also expect other passengers and attendants to make the trip a bit less than peaceful.

But should you ever take a railroad trip and discover yourself all alone on the train save a lone attendant you may want to consider getting off at the next station- or you may be in for a long, strange trip of self exploration...

(YouTube Link)

The Passenger is a stylish and poignant animated short created by students at ESMA, the Ecole Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques, which strangely made me want to take a trip by train again.
