What A $200,000 Bed Feels Like

Swedish bed makers Hästens created this very expensive bed called the Vividus. Vividus costs $200,000 (yes, you read that right) and is made from layers of horse-tail hair. Check out this video as Insider inspects the luxurious bed. Would you buy this bed?

We got rid of horse hair beds and carpet pads a century ago. When horses were the main mode of transportation, disposing of them was an industry. The meat went into pet food. The skins were used for (occasionally high-end) shoes. The hair was cheap filler.
Compared to modern materials, horse hair mats easily and quickly. It can be a food source for vermin. No thank you.
