Exotic Orange Bird Identified

A kind person in Buckinghamshire, UK, found a strange-looking bird on the side of the road. It was fairly large and bright orange. What kind of bird could it be? A big orange bird couldn't be native to England, could it? They took the bird to Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital for care, where the bird was identified as a seagull. It turns out that the bird was suffering from the same malady as another seabird in the UK three years ago. The clinic shared the story at Facebook

He had somehow gotten himself covered in curry or turmeric! It was all over his feathers, preventing him from flying properly. We have no idea how he got into this predicament but thankfully, apart from the vibrant colour and pungent smell, he was healthy.

Our veterinary team bravely bathed the gull (now named Vinny after a Vindaloo curry) to clean off his feathers. He managed to cover them in curry water, but eventually did let us scrub him clean.

Vinny will be released back into the wild. See more pictures of the operation at the Facebook post.  -via Bored Panda
