The Walking Dead Comic Has Ended the Story

The comic book series The Walking Dead debuted in 2003. Robert Kirkman's vision of a zombie apocalypse was adapted into novels, video games, and two TV series- with additional series and movies to come. However, the stories in the comic books and the main TV series have veered away from each other somewhat, with plots coming in a different order, and events happening to different characters. Some characters who died in the comics continued on TV, and vice versa, and there are characters who appear in one but not the other.

Now, after 16 years and 193 issues, Kirkman was ended the comic book series. The final issue was published this week. In case you are waiting for the compilation in order to read the whole series, I won't spoil the story. But if you want to know what happens in the final issue, Uproxx has a recap. We also learned of Kirkman's earlier idea for an ending that he decided not to use. Neither will necessarily be what happens on TV.
