The Reality of the Internet: Much of It Is Fake

No surprise there. A lot of people who are well-versed on the internet know that there are so many scams and shams going on in the internet.

There are fake accounts, fake websites, fake reviews, fake products. Anything and everything can be peddled on the internet and unsuspecting victims would still bite.

Sadly, it doesn't take that much effort to set up armies of bots to create fake reviews and recommendations. Any talented hacker can create a platoon of sock puppets to further his (or her) products, causes, etc. The real challenge is to tell the humans from the phonies.
