Mental Illness In Movies

Pop culture gives us a simplified, and often erroneous, depictions of mental illnesses. At the same time, mental illness is an easy way to introduce tension, unpredictability, and danger in a story, so you see it a lot in movies. Clinical psychologist Dr. Ali Mattu of The Psych Show checks out quite a few movies that present different psychological conditions, and describes how accurate or inaccurate they are. He busts a few stereotypes along the way, although some movies are quite spot on. -via Buzzfeed
