Divorce Lawyers Give Relationship Advice

Your first reaction might be to think that divorce lawyers will just tell you not to get married. That's not what happens at all. In fact, these people are married, and they value marriage as an institution. They have advice to give because they've seen what can go wrong when two people enter a marriage without being fully prepared. -via Tastefully Offensive

That 53% statistic measures all marriages, including people who marry twice, three times, etc. So if you get Zsa Zsa Gabor, who was married 9 times (divorced 8), that's going to skew the statistics a bit. But I don't claim to know if that skew is only a little, or a lot; and it's kinda hard to determine that based on the fact that most people who are on their first marriage naturally assume it will be their ONLY marriage. So you can read this a few different ways. But my point is that the 53% might be a bit low, or it might be a lot low. I'm on year 12, and I'm hoping for at least another 60-70 before one of us kicks the bucket; so I'm banking on a low percentage of divorces.
