Chainsaw Artist Carves Incredible Looking Octopus Out Of Fallen Redwood Tree

Carving animals and tiki gods into tree trunks with a chainsaw is an impressive way to sculpt wood, but chainsaw artists who are able to carve trees into realistic and free flowing organic shapes are a cut above the rest.

American chainsaw artist Jeffrey Michael Samudosky got his hands on a fallen redwood snag he saw as the perfect medium for a giant sculpture, and after staring at the wood for a while he started to see tentacles.

After hours of carving and sanding the tentacles started to take shape, as Jeffrey freed the giant octopus hidden inside the chunk of redwood tree provided to him by Redwood Burl.

Now the fallen redwood has been given a new life as a massive work of art, and Jeffrey is now the proud owner of a giant octopus that won't try to gobble him up!
