Every time Darth goes walking down the hall and passes a group of stormtroopers he inevitably hears them say "Was that Lord Vader? Rad!", and even though he has no idea what "rad" means he's pretty sure it's something good. Darth couldn't help but wonder about being "rad", so he consulted some of the younger crew members to help him make sense of this hip lingo- and they were too afraid of being force choked to truly speak their minds. But Darth didn't like being left in the dark, so he ordered his men to capture a Gungan for interrogation, since those stupid creatures are always hip and can't help but speak their minds. And when the foul smelling creature arrived Darth was most pleased to discover that "rad" was short for "radical", and when used as slang it meant really good. Of course, he would have to hide his happiness about being deemed "rad" from the Emperor, lest he get blasted to smithereens by lightning...
