Springfield used to be the kind of town where visitors could relax and enjoy themselves, a town that could be trusted with its own lake, but then old Monty Burns rolled in with his nuclear power plant and spoiled everything. His seemingly unlimited supply of money made it easy for him to cover up any crimes against nature he committed, but the fish refused to stay quiet.
