How To Make Your Own Halloween Mask

There comes a time in every Halloweenie's life when the costumes, appliances and masks sold at Halloween stores simply won't cut it anymore, so we start figuring out how to make our own.

Costumes are fairly easy to put together, even if you can't sew, and making a fake wound effect out of liquid latex and toilet paper isn't very difficult once you know how.

Everything else to do with the process seems impossible, but it really won't seem so hard after you watch the tutorial videos in the Monster Lab series put out by Ed Edmunds of Distortions Unlimited.

Ed and his team are really good at demystifying the process, showing you everything you need to buy to start sculpting masks and props and walking you through the entire sculpting  and molding process.

From there it's just practice, practice, practice until you're making masks you're proud to wear because they were totally and entirely made by YOUR OWN TWO HANDS!

So far the Monster Lab mask series has shown us how to sculpt and make the mold, which means casting and painting/finishing videos are on the horizon. I'm ready to start sculpting my own masks, how about you?
