14 Money Saving Life Hacks

(YouTube link)

Psst, wanna save some money? Of course you do! These aren’t just money-saving tips, they are “life hacks.” John Green has some really weird ways to get the job done cheaper. But do they really work? Let's say, some work better than others, and some are just plain weird. Even if I were to believe that it works, there’s no way that aerosol cheese costs less than stain remover! But those of us of a certain age already know you can brew an entire teapot of tea with one or two teabags. If you really want to save money, use loose tea in a tea ball.

The idea behind the razor-on-denim is similar to that of a leather strop (usually with a straight razor) -- it doesn't actually sharpen, but rather straightens the blade's edges.
Before every shave I use the back of my forearm (with care!) for the same, if not better, effect. About fifteen times opposite the cutting direction and I can tell a difference in the blades' smoothness even when doing this.

If you use certain types of tea (oolong, pu-erh, high grade black) you can often reuse the tea for multiple steepings. I can get three giant mugs out of one ration of pu-erh (albeit most of the caffeine is in the first mug.) It's NOT advisable for tea containing fruit (or fruit flavoring) or green/white... the former because the fruit all comes out in the first cup's worth, the second because the tea isn't strong enough to reuse.
