U.S. Olympic luge athlete Kate Hansen had a problem in her Sochi quarters that beat everything that has gone before. A wolf in the hall? A lot of folks said it must be a malamute, maybe one of Sochi’s famous stray dogs. So I decided to wait and see if it was ever confirmed as a wolf. It was later confirmed that the dog in the hallway was a prank committed by Hansen in collaboration with late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Still no word on what kind of dog it is. We’ll find out later tonight when Hansen appears on the Kimmel show. -via Uproxx
Update: Kimmel's prank worked exactly as he planned. News outlets fell all over each other trying to get it on the air fast! In this video, we find out that the dog is a wolf, but a tame rescue wolf employed by the show. Hansen said the prank did not go over all that well in Sochi, even though it was filmed in a TV studio in the States.
