Radio Shack: The Phone Call

(YouTube link)

For years, Radio Shack was the butt of jokes, in that they were stuck in the ‘80s. The company took that joke by the horns in their Super Bowl ad, which features every ‘80s icon you can think of coming in to collect VCRs, cathode-ray tubes, and oversized speakers.

The point is that if you haven’t been in a Radio Shack for years, you might be surprised to learn that they have updated their inventory. I can vouch for that myself -after years of not entering a Radio Shack, I went to purchase some coaxial cable a while back and found that they now only stock merchandise that relates to cell phones. Good for them, bad for me. But the ad is funny, and brought back a lot of memories of playing Q*bert at the local arcade. -via Daily Picks and Flicks

Great ad. Weirdly, I literally did need to purchase a coaxial cable myself this past weekend, and did go to Rad Shack, and they DID have several lengths in stock. So, it ain't all just cell phones.
