Barbara Millicent Roberts has weathered her share of bad press — impossible proportions, that nasty split from Ken, and of course, her sometimes questionable choice of clothing. I can't recall hearing floating logs down the river referred to as log drives, I think it was just referred to as floating logs. Both my father and grandfather worked on what I remember being called the boom or log boom into the 1970's. I'll have to ask my dad if the term log drives was used in our area of the Pacific Northwest.

Log Driver's Waltz

This is something that was on TVO (TV Ontario) regularly between cartoons for... well, decades I think. Surprised Mike Myers didn't try and plagiarize this at some point (so, so, so much of what he's done is directly lifted from stuff that was on TVO).

I remember seeing logs floating down the Kennebec River in Maine when vacationing up there in the mid-1950's. Did not see any men on them.
