In an environment where you aren't under pressure to produce a product (though there are certainly other pressures) and there are no deadlines, artistic talent can be cultivated over time. In an environment where people are unduly punished and pressured to behave according to a set of dated ideals, it's good to know that one person seems to have not been entirely pulverized under the boot of the overzealous American prison society.
