That's one heck of a way to advertise your local orchestra. The creations were created by art director Bjoern Ewers to show the true beauty of the instruments lies on the inside.
Hey, the exteriors of string instruments are very nice tp look at, too. Yes, the interiors photograph well. But the real beauty, I would say, lies in the sound that is produced by a skillful musician playing the instruments. :)
When I first saw this photo, I thought it was an architectural photo of a room with ornate skylights and a ceiling beam. Then I thought, wouldn't it be cool if an architectural firm would design a lobby or space for a music school or performance hall that looks exactly like this, to see how many people would recognize the visual pun? I can imagine "coming attractions" posters on the curved walls with track lighting shining on them.
When I was 7 and asked my father the same question, he said, "For the same reason that there's a North Pole and a South Pole, but not an East Pole and a West Pole."
Think of the image in a mirror as a rubber mould of the world this side - turned inside out. Top is still at the top, bottom at the bottom. Left is still on the left and right on the right. Near things are still near - far things are still far.
