Newspaper Blackout is Austin Kleon's latest poetry project. He's taken pages of text, often from newspapers, and blacked out words so that those left behind form free verse lines.

There are even published volumes of this sort of work from poets like Mary Ruefle (http://www.wavepoetry.com/catalog/47-a-little-white-shadow). My husband is a poet and is using this form to create a manuscript based on a 1984 issue of _Marriage and Family Sociology_. It yields some interesting results sometimes.
