we have a lot of fancy dress here in england too.beleive me those equines let you know if they dont like it, they can not only remove the rider but all their regalia too
the horse is probably the girl's best friend, and he's probably enjoying the attention. i had a horse when i was that age and spent most of my time with him, brushing and braiding his mane and tail, teaching him tricks and basically treating him like a pet dog. he loved it. i think that given their choice, most pets would rather be dressed up and fussed over than completely ignored as so many are.
(by the way, this appears to be a gelding, not a stallion. much better choice for a child.)
I have to admit that at first glance I thought this really was a very very big poodle. Which of course doesn't make the picture any more palatable. I simply cannot imagine the mental health problems of the parents who thought this was a good idea.
i wish i could find a better picture of it, but there is a status at Texas State University of some naked dudes on horses with ridiculously huge balls. everyone touches them.

I mean, this thing is known as "Moon Over Homewood". That's how I did the search to get this link. :)
Here is a more current picture:

Cool idea - mooning a city.
The problem, however, was that some horse's *sses (no pun intended), staying at the Plaza, objected to the fact that the horse's butt faced them.
The statue was reversed, at great expense, about 30 years ago.
You can't make that stuff up
