This "little" guy came over and hung out around our boat for about 45 minutes just begging everyone to get in the water for a little swim. We were sorry to disappoint him.
Aleki, you are so lucky to be able to study such a noble creature! I've always wanted to go whale-watching, but...well, I'm flat broke and can't afford the travel expenses--and one doesn't find many humpback whales in the middle of Texas... *sigh*
It's in Hawaii and no that's not me in the photo. I'm much whiter.
Humpbacks have never been documented either giving birth or mating. They're really shy about both of those events. We have an underwater camera and this is the year we're going to capture it on film...I hope. Another neat post is on the way soon for all you voyeurs out there.
