King cobras have a bad reputation, and the mere sight of them makes many people squirm in their seats, so if they saw a king cobra dying of thirst they'd probably say "good riddance".

But the animal lover in this video is from Southern India, where people have learned to live alongside king cobras despite their deadly bite. So when a thirsty king cobra came up to the animal rescue worker looking for a drink he calmly gave the snake some water from a bottle.

The video - shot in Southern India - shows a daring wildlife rescue worker offering water to the snake.

The 12 feet long cobra was rescued from a village in Kaiga township - where it has strayed, apparently looking for water.

Some parts of southern India have been hit by drought, making water scarce. Wildlife officials say the drought has severely affected wild animals in the region.

So when the team of rescue workers found the cobra, the first thing they did was to offer it water.

Peter Parker was never much of an artist, and even though he's a gifted photographer his drawings used to look like something a third grader would scribble out in art class. But after being bit by that radioactive spider he has become a man with spidery abilities, and a byproduct of these abilities and having spiderlike agility and grace is he's suddenly a really good painter. Like Norman Rockwell good, which he found quite surprising, but he was even more surprised by how much painting self portraits helped him put his superheroic life in perspective. I mean, why avenge, revenge and detain when you can just let the bad guys bust themselves? Did I mention this art phase lasted about two days?

The easiest way to identify if a piece of wooden furniture is high quality or mass produced junk is by checking the joints- dovetail, mortise and tenon and dowel joints are all typically considered a sign of quality construction.

There are exceptions to this rule, but there's one wood joint that's an unmistakable sign of quality- the precise and difficult to cut Japanese sunrise dovetail joint.

Got round to finishing off this Japanese dovetail joint. Pleased to say it did fit together. It was a head scratcher for sure. The sunrise dovetail is such a perfectly tight fitting joint that only master furniture makers use them in their builds, but when they're done right the end result is beautiful to behold.

Woodworking teacher Theo Cook of the Robinson House Studio Furniture School proves he's a master of the craft with this video, where he shows off his super tight Japanese sunrise joint skills!

Most parents are lucky if the teenager they hire to babysit actually does a good job of keeping their kid safe and plays with them a bit, much less goes the extra mile to make the kid smile.

But the lucky folks who hired 15-year-old Keegan Carnahan hooked themselves a winner-because Keegan actually dresses up like a mermaid to entertain her young charge Alidy.

Keegan says she got the tail when she was 12 and "going through a phase", so when little Alidy came trotting out in her mermaid outfit Keegan "thought it would be a fun surprise to bring out mine for bathtime."

Alidy naturally thought it was a brilliant idea, and now people across the country are looking to hire Keegan to hire their kids...and star in their mermaid shows!

Ever since those goofy commercials began airing in the 90s we've been living with that earworm of a song telling us "fresh goes better in life" at the mere mention of the name Mentos.

Since then people have wondered- where did this candy company come from? And what's with the campy commercials?

Many Americans didn't become aware of Mentos until they saw those cheesy commercials in the 90s, but the Van Melle company had been exporting Mentos to America since 1972.

That's the problem that led to those campy Mentos commercials- low sales drove the company to take drastic measures, so they cut their flavor selection from 50 to 2 and hired German ad agency Pahnke & Partners to make those iconic ads.

And those ads actually worked for a while, about 7 years to be exact:

By the mid-1990s, both news media and the burgeoning world of the internet had become preoccupied with the unreality of Mentos.

For Van Melle, the curiosity led to brand awareness that couldn’t have been obtained purely through ad buys. By 1996, Mentos had reached $135 million in sales and was being mentioned or parodied in a number of high-profile spots. The Foo Fighters released a video, “Big Me,” which mocked the cheesiness of the ads; the candy was name-dropped in 1995’s Clueless; the brand got sustained exposure during an entire season of Baywatch. The novelty began to wear off around 1999, when Mentos's sales had leveled despite major growth in what Ad Age dubbed the “strong mint category” of treats.
