I'm excited to announce a quickie Transformers Treasure Hunt in collaboration with our friends over at The Daily What (a very cool blog, as I'm sure you all already know). Like our usual Tokyoflash Treasure Hunt, this contest involves finding answers to clues that we've left on both of our websites.

It's easy to play - for those who haven't played before, here's how: we'll give you a set of clues, for example:

1. What is the name of Neatorama's baby blog?
2. What is 2+1?
3. What is the name of the top grill listed in our Top 10 Coolest BBQ Grills article?

Henken’s story attracted the attention of another woman, Betty Atkison Ryan, who knew a practical joker (long deceased) named John Slaven, who often used the fake name, Chauncey Wolcott.

Atkinson Ryan told the newspaper that Slaven was her boss in the Journal-Register’s classified advertising department decades ago. She said Slaven often used a typewriter to compose some of his jokes and signed them “Chauncey Wolcott.”

Ms. Henken has admitted to being had, but still thinks there must be something buried there.  She luckily still has use of a donated backhoe; unfortunately the property owners have pulled the plug on her efforts.

Handbag designer Rachel Nasvik had a great idea on how to promote her new line for cheap: stage a great urban hunt for handbags!

Rachel places her handbags, stuffed with all sorts of girly stuff like lip gloss and bobby pins along with the note "You didn’t find this bag, this bag found you," hidden in public places around New York City. If you find it, you can keep it.

Whatever you think of the ad campaign, the photo is priceless! PLEASE NO PEE-PEE.

In the 500+ entries that we got, one really stood out: GrouchieGrumbles (entry #128) told us that if he/she should win, then we should just donate the prize to Toys for Tots charity. A Neatorama reader who prefers only to be called "a retired US Navy radioman" pointed this out to me.

Both of us are touched at the gesture, so we’ve decided to both donate $100 each to Toys for Tots, in honor of GrouchieGrumbles (whoever he is). This Christmas, times are tough – so Toys for Tots and other charities need our help more than ever. I’d like to invite you go open your heart (and wallet) and donate a little something.
