A lot of schools are facing budget deficit, but one alternative high school in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, has a unique way to raise funds: it's selling itself on eBay*!

For sale: "One Pre-owned, But Extremely Successful, Public High School."

So begins the tongue-in-cheek, but completely serious, eBay listing for The Learning Center, a Langhorne, Pa., school that has found a unique method to fight debilitating budget cuts--the school has put itself up for auction on eBay. [...]

The starting bid is $599,995, the exact amount needed to keep the school open for the 2012-2013 school year.

(*eBay has since pulled the listing)

Mmmm ... Is the 600k just for one years ownership ? Sounds a bit much for a one year leasehold, without occupancy rights !

But, Hey ! Good luck to them !
