Artistic Masterpieces Created by Trees

By Queuebot in Art on Feb 3, 2009 at 2:11 am

The next piece of art to adorn your living room wall could be drawn by
a tree. British artist Tim Knowles has
developed a way of allowing nature to be an artist. His tree drawings
are created by attaching drawing tools to the tips of tree branches!

I like the idea, but I think it can be taken further.

I like the results of the other ones better, like the car and the postal box.

it has been done before. the one instance i know of was from a traveling art exhibit called “Botanica” and that was possibly back in 1999. i can’t remember the artist’s name though. the drawings were on aluminum panels, and they were some of the most handsome pieces in the show.

Doesn’t this defeat the whole purpose of ART? A sentient being expressing a feeling or a thought and communicating that to another human being?
Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against trees but c<mon…

Leif: you need to pull back and look at the project as a whole. the point isn’t the drawings themselves, it’s how they’re made as well, which is WHY we’re told how they’re made. the thoughts he’s communicating are very clear to me…
