Posted by Miss Cellania in Fashion, Movies & SciFi on January 3, 2009 at 12:25 pm

Shoe collector Mark Kurath commissioned a professional orthopedic shoemaker to construct these one-of-a-kind Back to The Future sneakers! The process took six months and cost him $4,000. Sneaker Freaker magazine interviews Kurath about his “McFlys” and the rest of his collection of 500 pairs of sneakers. Link -Thanks, Clare Xu!

Nike is now making Back to the Future Part II shoes as part of their collection. Not sure if this person was aware of that when he spent so much time and money making these.

Is it just me, or do these look like they were colored on with a sharpie?

Just so you know, the picture up there is just an earlier prototype. The finished product is http://www.sneakerfreaker.com/feature/diy-mcfly-sneakers/4/

Haha, it would have been better to show the $4K product! See http://www.sneakerfreaker.com/feature/diy-mcfly-sneakers/4/
    for the real thing.

The prototype shown above was made when he was much younger and he probably did color them with Sharpie.

Haha wow, these look kind of ridiculous… I at least hope he’s happy with his 4k investment.
