StateStats - Search Popularity by State

StateStats is an online tool that can show you how popular a Google search query is in each U.S. state.

It then compares this ranking with other ways of ranking states, like average income or population density, using Spearman’s rank correlation.

100% of Michigan is interested in ’sex’ compared to 67% in Deleware.

“Sorry, the load on this app is too high right now to process new queries. Try again tomorrow.”

I love when a bigger blog like this links to something on servers too small to handle the traffic. xD Maybe I’m wrong about what’s causing thing. But it’s made me laugh in the past.

@Christophe - People usually don’t search for what they’re already getting. Take that into consideration before moving.

The results for ‘donuts’ make me feel unsure about this tool

The ‘app’ is down because of high load. It seems the booklist app from the next post is down too because of high load. I’ll try again later.

100% of North Carolina searches for barbecue compared to 76% of Texas.

This confirms what I have always suspected, North Carolina is more barbecue crazy than Texas. And ours is better anyway.
