    Interesting, I always assumed that the fortune cookie was an invention made from scratch by Chinese immigrants to the U.S. Looks like there’s a bit more to the story about its actual origins/inspirations:

    Although some argue that fortune cookie might actually invented by Chinese American in CA. So the verdict is still out.

    According to many sources I know the fortune cookie was invented in Los Angeles by David Jung of the Hong Kong Noodle Company based in Los Angeles in 1918.
