My Loony Bun is Fine Benny Lava: Bollywood Song Buffalaxed!

YouTube user buffalax specializes in subtitling foreign music video clips. No, not translating - basically he subtitles the song with what he believes it sounds like in English, in a term he coined as being "buffalaxed."

Like this one: from the treasure trove that is Bollywood Mollywood (Kollywood?), here’s "My loony bun is fine Benny Lava!" Hit play or go to Link [YouTube] | More subtitles by Buffalax - Thanks Skully!

I can’t help but think I might be racist for finding this hilarious. No really, I’m laughing but I’m not sure if I’m disturbed with myself for it or not.

This is a pretty common, but sometimes hilarious device. My first intro to was Yatta although in that case he didn’t just make up appropriate English sounding lyrics but a whole animation, around his lyrics, calling it a fanimation.

YTMND does this extensively like http://cornonthekabob.ytmnd.com/

Racist? Come on! It’s good fun, and not about race, but about foreign customs (Bollywood). Is there a set of value described about those people? Does it say their human worth is more or less than other people? I don’t think so. This is just humour. joke. funny story. gag. Go and laugh redphone : my Indian friend Amit laughed at the thriller remake.

I actually submitted this, I had to because I can’t stop watching it. It’s hilarious, but also I think it’s a well made video, the dancing is really good, the music and singing are good too. They did an excellent job making this even before the “buffalaxing” Also, I think the dude is really cool, and chick is yummy too….

    Hey, it’s George Micheal! :D

I watched this with the sound off (I’m at work) and I kept trying to fit these hilarious lyrics into the tune ‘Faith’.

I be another Indian and I agree there is nothing racist about laughing at this, it’s classic!

However, for Alex and those interested, this isn’t Bollywood. In fact most of the ‘comedy’ clips circulating (dancing dwarf, Indian thriller etc) are from south Indian cinema or ‘Mollywood’ (originally named for Madras, which is now Chennai).

This guy is actor/director/choreographer extraordinaire Prabhudeva and you should see him dance…legend! Example from way back in the day: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q40NVzXhOw

I want you to pee on me tonight?

Thought I’d hate it, but watched it anyways. Better than the Thriller one, but that could be just because it was Thriller.

It does kinda poke fun, but hopefully, not meanly.
