Billboard Ad for Cheap Lobotomy

Posted by Alex in Advertising, Arts & Crafts on October 5, 2007 at 2:49 am

Toronto’s street artist Dan Bergeron (aka fauxreel) created this billboard advertising cheap lobotomy with a local phone number where people could call and leave messages. Surprisingly, a lot of people actually called to request lobotomies!

I actually worked at Nuit Blanche this year (the overnight art festival in Toronto where this peice was featured) and this was quite a popular exhibit. He had also put smaller stickers of the ad over existing ads outside of variety stores. It was such an interesting type of almost interventionist art, a lot of people would walk by and look and then stop and look again.
