Bill Clements, the One-Handed Bass Player.

By Alex in Music, Video Clips on Jul 4, 2006 at 12:20 am

Bill Clements is a Michigan bass player who lost his right hand and forearm in an industrial accident in 1989. This would have been a career-ending accident, but not for Bill, who started played again 3 months later.

Awww, he’s one of those people that CAN really inspire. He’s amazing.. I admire his passion for what he does, even if he only has one arm. Great video here, although i thought of this video (http://www.funnylisa.com/human_robot.htm) after seeing Bill’s arm.. LOL no offense it’s just that it really reminded me of it. Hehehe.. more power to you blog! =) Ill be back for more stuff…

What’s interesting is that he actually plays better than most two-handed bass players…

There’s a band in Austin called The Flametrick Subs, and their basist, Lefty DeMarco, also plays bass without one of his hands, but uses a different technique. He frets his standup bass with his wrist nub, and plays better than most other bassists. It is nothing less than amazing to watch.
