    Considering the length of the train itself it’s most likely a local train, going between a handful of small villages at most. Architecture on houses etc hints at rural Japan, possibly China, and so does the characters on the front of the train, though too faint to make out.

    I think it might be photoshopped, as it looks pretty fuzzy around the top headlight, and someone mentions it here. here

    I would assume that it’s either photoshopped. If it is real, than it’s most likely because of some obstruction. Like a triangular tunnel. I remember growing up, we had so many triangular tunnels with train tracks… one of these would have allowed us to get out of our town once in a while.
