Talk about the dog days of dressing up! This sad old Rin Tin Tin costume must have had kids howling in humiliation as they slipped that cheap plastic mask on and tried to pretend they were dressed as something cool.
This "Famous Name" cheapo costume was made by the Ben Cooper costume company, the originators of the flimsy plastic licensed character costume, and I'm pretty sure kids weren't eager to dress up like a dog with his own TV show, even in the 1950s.
