Who's The Coolest Movie Monster Of All Time?

(Video Link)

Movie monsters started out huge, shrank down small enough to fit in your toilet then grew to massive proportions once again, yet no matter the size of the monster there are fans who will line up to see their latest on-screen appearance and continue to hail their choice for king of the monsters.

Screen Junkies host Hal Rudnick sat down with two guys who know a whole lot about movie monsters- Roger Barr, founder of I-Mockery, and horror filmmaker Eben McGarr, to discuss the coolest movie monsters of all time.

Check it out and see if any of your favorite big screen baddies made their list!

The Most Terrifying Teddy Bear Ever Created

(Video Link)

(WARNING- This video contains graphic imagery that may make it hard to sleep at night, especially if you're a fan of teddy bears! Viewer discretion is advised)

Toys are most definitely not just for kids anymore, haven’t been for quite some time really, but there’s a new teddy in town that has taken toys well into the realm of graphic horror and violence, a teddy more R-rated than the foulmouthed bear who starred in the movie Ted.

The Peek-A-Boo Bear is an animatronic teddy bear with a creepy voice and a dark secret, one which you can’t unsee, and if you invite this fuzzy little masochist to a party you’d better cover everything you own in plastic, 'cause things are about to get messy!

He was the 700th sinister teddy bear created bycustom horror toy company Undead Teds and hopefully the last one prone to committing acts of self mutilation, for the sake of the baby teddy bears out there who still have hope in their fluffy little hearts.

(Video Link)

What’s the most effective weapon to use while waging war, a weapon that very few people on the planet are capable of defending against?

CUTE- the ultimate weapon against mankind, the power of perfectly large facial features and tiny proportions colliding in one adorable, fuzzy form. But what if cute critters used their powers of adorability against each other?

You’d end up with World War Cute, an in-house war that has every cat, dog and bird up in arms, ready to go full blown nuclear against their fellow pets.

Dawww, look at the little kamikaze birdy, isn't he cute?!

Honest Video Game Box Art

Avid gamers can become extremely jaded towards cover art full of empty promises and paid reviews, especially when they’ve played one too many games promising the moon but delivering little more than a slice of cheese, so wouldn’t it be a real hoot if game companies started telling us what we should actually expect when we play their game?

Mario Kart will test the limits of your friendships, Skyrim is full of crazy glitches, and there’s no getting the love back once you’ve played Duke Nukem Forever…these facts would have been helpful to know before we started playing these games and went through all the heartache!

These honest video game box art treatments, and many more, have made their way into a Facebook group called HonestVGBoxArt, which boasts a whopping 14,000 members and over 100 modded video game boxes for your viewing pleasure.

Inanimate Objects Turned Into Colorful Characters

French multimedia artist Gilbert Legrand is either in need of some really strong psych meds, the kind that keep you from hallucinating, or he simply has such a vivid imagination that he sees colorful characters in every inanimate object he comes across throughout his day.

His whimsical series of sculptures turn the objects we use in our daily lives, like corkscrews, zippers, faucets and spray bottles, into hilariously lively anthropomorphic characters, some of which seem to personify the object itself while others simply use elements of the original object as part of the character design.

I'll never look at a dripping faucet the same way ever again!

We're at a point in our existence on Earth where we can truly help animals, yet poaching and needless hunting still goes on despite the warnings and knowledge that humans may very well cause some animal species to go extinct, and it seems like some people just don't understand the gravity of the situation.

Perhaps if there were more ads out there like the ones present in this collection of 33 Powerful Animal Ad Campaigns That Tell The Uncomfortable Truth people would have their eyes opened to the seriousness of the situation, and how every little bit we can do to help bring animals back from the brink of extinction, or keep our furry critter friends safe from exploitation, will ultimately benefit our lives as members of Team Earth.

Surprising Behind-The-Scenes Facts About The Dark Knight

(Video Link)

Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight changed the way the world thought about Batman, giving him a new depth of emotion and melancholia that had been present in the comics for years but had yet to be translated properly to the big screen.

The Dark Knight also did a great job of bringing Bat-Mania back in full swing, and now the Caped Crusader is more popular than ever before, with a whole new batch of fans who might not have ever picked up an issue of the comic if they hadn't enjoyed the movies so much.

With all this Bat-Mania in the air people tend to think they know all there is to know about the first Dark Knight film, and what it took to bring Batman to the big screen in such an epic way, but as this informative video by Cinefix shows there's a whole lotta stuff going on behind-the-scenes that you might have missed...

Ten Tips To Beat The Odds At A Casino

Hit any casino floor and you'll find hundreds, if not thousands, of people placing their hope for a better life down on the table, alongside their gaming tokens, hoping to strike it rich but typically leaving with less money than when they arrived.

However, if you enjoy gambling at casinos despite the monetary risk there's hope for you yet, as these Ten Tips To Beat The Odds At A Casino from gambling insider Bill Zender (via Mental Floss magazine) will reveal.

Tricks like singling out the clumsiest dealer, finding an older roulette wheel and betting on the biased numbers, and always knowing when to say when will keep you from losing your shirt when the house is trying to pick your pockets clean before you leave.

Life Inside Russia's Secret "Closed" City

Secrets have been pouring out of Russia like water through a sieve ever since the Iron Curtain collapsed, making it easy to disregard any newly discovered "secrets" as just another batch of sensationalized snack-sized news bites, but in the case of Russia's secret "closed" city Zarechny it's far too surreal of a story to ignore.

Zarechny is one of 44 cities which didn't officially "exist" under Communism- they weren't on any map, they were home to over a million people yet the rest of Russia's citizens had no idea about these cities until knowledge of their existence was revealed to the public in 1986, and now they're slowly but surely being opened up to the outside world.

Photographer Ksenia Yurkova traveled into the forbidden zone known as Zarechny to snap some amazing pics for The Calvert Journal, and her first indication that Zarechny wasn't like other cities came upon entering the city, which is surrounded by a chainlink fence topped with barbed wire and requires a pass to enter.

Once home to "secret government strategic facilities", today Zarechny is home to Rosatom, a "state-owned corporation that manufactures parts for nuclear weapons". Sounds totally legit to me!

Who Needs Paper When You've Got Stones And Skulls To Draw On?

When art lovers feast their eyes upon the artwork of French illustrator DZO Olivier one main question comes to mind- "why skulls and stones?"

DZO claims to have turned to skulls and stones in a time when he was out of paper and looking for something new to draw on, but regardless of how he began illustrating upon these unusual canvases there's something so right about the way they look when they're all inked up.

Like a flat ink version of scrimshaw, DZO's solid linework stands out bold and compellingly illustrative against the flat color of the skulls and stones that make up his appropriately entitled series "Stones and Bones", and your eyes get lost while trying to take in every dreamy detail drawn on the very earthy surfaces.

Young George R. R. Martin's Letter To Marvel Comics

Once upon a time a young, unbearded George R. R. Martin read issue seventeen of Fantastic Four fresh off the drugstore rack, and he loved it so much he simply couldn’t keep his joy to himself, so he decided to write a gushing letter to the Marvel comics bullpen (aka Stan Lee and Jack Kirby) via the Fantastic Four Fan Page.

His skills as a writer were already evident, even though he was but fourteen or fifteen years old, but the overwhelming desire to destroy the lives of fictional characters readers have grown to love had yet to manifest in young Mr. Martin’s prose.

Take it from your old pal George- the best way to become a best-selling fantasy author is to read lots of comic books! 'Nuff said!
