Kids Dressed As Famous Movie Characters

File this advertising campaign under OMG ADORBS-kids dressed up like iconic movie characters to promote the Praia de Belas cineplex in Brazil.

There's little Eddie Safety Scissorhands, Jackie Sparrow drunk on fruit punch, and a Cruelita DeVil that would rather hug the little puppies than skin them alive.

You're tugging at my heartstrings Praia de Belas!

What Futurama Characters Would Look Like In Real Life

This series of realistic renditions by Jared Krichevsky shows what those crazy aliens from Futurama might look like in real life, and they're downright scary!

Jared even managed to make mild mannered Kif look rather repulsive, and I used to think Nibbler looked cute and cuddly...now I'm not so sure...

Coloso Wants To Share His Power With You

This is Coloso, and he's a massive electrical tower shaped like a robot that was created by art collective Doma for the Tecnopolis 2012 exhibition in Argentina.

He looks friendly enough, but if you try to give him a hug you'll get a shocking surprise!

Donkey Kong Was Only The Beginning...

Digital artist Julien Bazinet has taken the classic arcade game Donkey Kong and recast it with some of pop culture's most beloved characters, creating simulated screens for an out of this world platformer.

Villains like Bane, the Xenomorph Queen and Cookie Monster?! await the hero at the top of the screen in these pixel-tastic homages to retro gaming.

Man, I wish somebody would make these into levels in a real Donkey Kong mod!

A Modern Take On The Classic Lava Lamp

Designer Merve Kahraman has created an updated version of the classic Lava Lamp, and this time the wax is flowing fluid-free.

He calls it the Revitalizer, and it looks like a big old waxy mess in the making!

Wax heated by a high voltage bulb up top drips into the cup below, and when the whole thing is melted down, you can take it out of the cup and start all over again.

Psychedelic Critter Statues By Troy Emery

These wild and wooly critter statues were created by a crafty Australian artist named Troy Emery.

Troy starts with a taxidermy foam body form and adds craft materials to the body, like brightly colored yarn, pompoms and plastic beads.

What a funky menagerie of fantastically far out creatures!

Colorful Felt Collages By Jacopo Rosati

These cool felt collages are by Italian artist Jacopo Rosati, who understands the value of adding a bit of fuzzy warmth to his artworks.

With works ranging from warm and fuzzy felt to slick, simple graphic design, taking a gander at Jacopo's colorful works is a good way to brighten up your day!

The Dark Knight Returns...To The Bathroom!

This custom Batman toilet paper holder was made by a tongue-in-cheeky sort of fellow named conrick, and it's all sorts of wrong!

Hasn't old Batsy been put through enough trials and tribulations lately, now he's gotta stand around looking embarrassed while you do your business?!

This thing is so wacky, if a friend had one in their house I'd probably hatch a Joker inspired scheme and abscond with it...for the sake of the Dark Knight's dignity, of course.

The Updated Geek Signs Of The Zodiac

If you've always felt like there was an Undead Slayer, Pirate, or Spy lurking inside you, it's probably because of your Geek Zodiac sign.

In this annual zodiac the animals are replaced by beloved icons of geekdom, with the years under each sign determined by the year when the first example of the icon (approximately) appeared in popular culture.

I'm an Undead/Slayer, so i'm totally gonna PWN the upcoming zombie apocalypse!

New Fan Made Star Trek Web Series

(YouTube Link)

This is episode 1 of a new fan made Star Trek web series, and aside from some audio syncing difficulties and some minor technical imperfections it looks pretty good!

Watch episode 1- Secret Voyage, and see if you'll be tuning in for the rest of the webisodes in this voyage across space...the final frontier.

Retro Styled Rayguns Made From Found Objects

This awesome array of retro rayguns are made from found objects by Kevin Skinner, aka Budget Raygun.

The only thing that could make these retro-futuristic styled rayguns any cooler is if they actually fired energy beams and made pew!pew! noises.

The future was so much cooler in the past!

A Map Of Japan Made From 1.8 Million Lego

This amazing feat of Lego engineering would make anyone feel like Godzilla. It's a highly detailed map of Japan made from 1.8 million Lego bricks, and it looks so pretty that I want to DESTROY!

This masterpiece was created to celebrate 50 years of Lego in Japan, and more than 5,000 people across Japan helped build it during the Build Up Japan celebration.

Geeky Nesting Dolls By BoBo Babushka

Nesting dolls, known as Matryoshka dolls in their native Russia, don't have to feature stoic faced babushkas in sarafans.

Take these geeky nesting dolls for example, which were made by Etsy seller Irene Hwang aka BoBo Babushka.

They feature characters from such popular geek fare as The Avengers, Black Adder and the Big Bang Theory.

What a fun way to show some geek love and spruce up your abode at the same time!

Rubber Band Gatling Gun

(YouTube Link)

The guy in this video has created the ultimate non-lethal squirrel deterrant- a rubber band gatling gun that fires 200 rounds with the crank of a wooden handle.

Reloading looks like a huge pain in the neck, but I doubt any invading critters are going to stick around after seeing this thing let loose!

Surreal Sculptures By Alex Chinneck

Brick chimneys are not typically thought of as flexible structures, and slicing through them isn't anything like slicing through a piece of paper.

Well, sculptor Alex Chinneck must have missed the memo on what you can and can't do with bricks, and his whimsical sculptures blur the boundary between art and home renovation. It's like shopping at a home improvement store designed by a madman!
