Musician Ossian Brown, formerly of the group Coil, has released a book called Haunted Air which showcases his collection of creepy photos dating from 1875 to 1955.
I'd like to believe that all of these photos were taken around Halloween, but some of them seem to indicate that the subjects are dressed up for another form of ritual entirely, one that most likely involves the invoking of dark spirits and some sort of sacrifice... *shiver*

Our friends at Flavorwire shared their updated 2012 edition of costumes kids are too young to understand with us, and they've stepped up their game so much that we just had to share.
From a dapper young Don Draper, glass of scotch in hand, to a tiny version of Sweet Dee from the epic rock opera The Nightman Cometh, to a moustachioed Ron Swanson family this years collection of costumes are not only less kid centric, some are just straight up inappropriate!
When they said "Send in the clowns" I don't think they meant an entire collection made up of over 13,000 pieces, each one more terrifying than the last.

Not so long ago on afront lawn not so far away a battle between good and evil played out between scarecrows, and it was so cool that people took pictures and shared them with the world.
All of the major characters were there, from Luke and Han to Jabba and Emperor Palpatine, and even though they had no facial features they still managed to express their love of Star Wars, and Halloween, through posture and a bit of special effects lighting.
