Tim Biskup's Polygonal Painting Series

Tim Biskup is no stranger to the strange, so it's fitting that his new series of paintings should feature polygonal heads of some rather strange creatures.

They look like simple 3d models juxtaposed into a Pop Art painting, with a swanky color palette to match. Their unusual, kooky, and their eyes are all over the place! Follow the link and check out this polygonal menagerie for yourself.

A Gallery Of Re-Imagined Movie Posters

Adam Rabalais decided to try his hand at re-designing classic movie posters, with nation of origin appropriate spelling and style, and without all of the clutter present in the average lobby fare. Check the link out for a small gallery of the artist's reworks, and see if you think simpler is better.

Parallax Looks Mind Blowing-With Portals

(YouTube Link)

With a monochrome color palette and mind bending portal physics, the indie game Parallax is set to blow away gamers when it comes out early 2012.

And, as amazing as this game looks, it was developed by only 2 people, Zi Ye and Jesse Burstyn, and is slated to be completed in less than one year! Check out the trailer and see if your brain can handle the world of Parallax.

The House With A Halloween Light Show

(YouTube Link)

This house better stock up on Halloween candy, because they're guaranteed to have a flood of trick or treaters this year! The brilliant light show changes with the music, and animated pumpkin faces sing along. I wonder what these people are going to do to their house for Christmas?

Care Bears In Real Life

There's something about these Care Bears that's not quite right. Maybe it's the massive fangs, or sharp claws, or the fact that the symbol on the bear's stomach seems to be running. Something tells me these bears don't want to hug and sing songs!

The Ultimate Battlefield 3 Simulator

(YouTube Link)

The British television show The Gadget Show has created a simulator for Battlefield 3 that will appeal to those who feel the game isn't realistic enough.

Featuring a treadmill floor, projection screens and a motion controlled gun that looks kind of cheesy but doesn't seem to detract from the tester's enjoyment of this unique gaming experience. I don't know about you, but I want one!

Kraven Hunts For A Date To The Prom

Kraven is one of the strangest Spider Man villains, so it can't be easy for the man in the furry vest to get a date, especially when he's inexplicably invited to the prom! To read the rest of this wacky Kraven adventure, follow the link to K. Beaton's site and enjoy the absurdity!

A Photographer's Unique View Of Paris

Photographers have taken pictures of Paris in every way imaginable, but photographer Philipp Klinger aims to show us all just how symmetrical and full of patterns the City of Light really is, if you see the city through his viewfinder.

There's an optically pleasing gallery of images to be seen at the DesignTAXI link below, try to keep your eyeballs in your head!

This Giant Camera Takes Amazing Photos

When photographer Darren Samuelson set up to take photos of Manhattan with his massive six foot long view camera that weighs over 70 pounds, authorities were alerted and the police had to be convinced that he wasn't pointing a weapon at the city!

This amazing device, which Ansel Adams will likely come back from the dead just to get his hands on, was created to use x-ray film three feet wide, and it takes some truly awesome panoramic photos. Hit the link to see a short video of the big daddy view camera in action!

ps-here's a link to the artist's website that I should have included with the article in the first place. Sorry Darren!

Attack Of The Zombie Wasp Queens

Parasites are raising an army of zombie wasp queens to do their bidding, and it's a good thing that these parasites aren't more ambitious,  because they'd probably be well on their way to taking over the world by now! The parasites cause common wasps to believe that they are queens, rejecting their normal caste and acting as self serving loners in wasp society: Infected P. dominulus — better known as common European paper wasps — reject their genetically preordained roles, abandon their hives and embark on a long, macabre journey during which a few live for a time as queens, albeit murderous queens. Read on about this fascinating example of parasitic mind control at the Wired link below, and pray these little critters don't develop a taste for human blood! Link

Gameboy Is Back From The Dead

GameBoy has crawled out of it's grave and is hungry for some computer brains! This nifty little figurine was made by Kodykoala, a guy who has created an impressive array of custom figures, most of which place beloved Nintendo characters in *ahem* awkward situations. Click on the link and check out Nintendo characters gone wild!

Printing New Homes For Hermit Crabs

Hermit crab homelessness is reaching critical levels, leaving many of these fine clawed fellows without a shell of their own.

Now, thanks to 3d printers and our tireless search for new things to print out, there's a solution: custom printed hermit crab shells! The printed shells will last longer, look cooler and are sure to stir up feelings of jealousy among other hermit crabs. If only we could print houses for homeless humans!

What Cartoon Kids Look Like All Grown Up

If our favorite toon people were allowed to age, which of course they're NOT, we might not like how they turn out. Head to the link and witness a gallery of adult versions of cartoon children that is cute, funny and somewhat disturbing.

This gallery made me think the following:

How did Spongebob grow up to be so creepy? Did Mike from Monsters Inc. take steroids? Are Lilo and Stitch more than just friends?

Will we be able to look at these characters in the same way ever again?

An Office Worker Goes Kong

(YouTube Link)

If Donkey Kong wasn't a giant gorilla, but rather a lowly office worker whose promotion was given to a moustachioed employee named Mario, then the situation would probably play out just as it does in this spoof movie trailer for "Mr. Kong". It's a good thing nobody took his stapler!

This Koala Is Very Thirsty

(YouTube Link)

This poor little guy wandered into a woman's yard in Australia due to it being a particularly hot day, so the woman decided to let him drink from the hose. Apparently koalas don't understand how hoses work, because he gets more water on his arm than he does in his mouth!
