Star Wars and Scary Movie Mash-up

The Dark Side of the force meets the darker side of cinema in these Star Wars-horror movie mash-up artworks created for the Death Star Art Show in Baltimore. Of particular note is the painting of Yoda as Hannibal from Silence of the Lambs, what a cute little cannibal!

Tintin Fights Back

[Image deleted per DMCA request from Moulinsart SA]

I guess size doesn't matter when it comes to messing with Tintin. Illustrator Mike Holmes created this piece for an exhibit called Toronto Draws Tintin, running from November 2-27 at the Beguling. These guys must have been talking trash about Tintin's mother!

Painting With Light Photographs

Brian Hart creates these really cool light painting photographs by using exposure times up to 20 minutes long. Now that's what I call bending light! These images are so detailed that I can't help but wonder what sort of reference he uses while the shutter is open.

Master Splinter, What Happened To The Ninja Turtles?

Was a spell cast upon the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which turned them into trees, or is this tree just a really big fan of the series? This tree with a face would have fit in quite well on the set of the Dark Crystal.

Baby Lantern Has The Power Of All Color Spectrums

This baby just might be the most powerful being in the universe, since she has harnessed the power of all Lantern Corps. emotional color spectrums!

Readers of the DC Comics Green Lantern series (among the many other Lantern Corps. related titles) know that it doesn't stop with the power of green, but no one has ever harnessed all of the spectrum powers at once, and looked so cute wearing them all!

She even has the dreaded Black spectrum suit, but you'll have to head to the link to see her scary side.

Dr. Frankenstein Hard At Work On His Monster

This neat, albeit gory, illustration by Chris Schweizer shows Dr. Frankenstein hard at work on his monster. Pray he gets it right this time!

Zombie Iron Man Is Falling Apart

Zombie Iron Man showed up at the Paris Zombie Walk 2011 looking like a billion bucks. I'm surprised he wasn't at Occupy Wall Street supporting the 1% by eating protestor's brains! Wouldn't it be hilarious if this caught on as a Halloween costume?

Epic Scale HALO Alien Costume

What would you think if you saw this thing walking down the street, eight feet tall and full of sinister snarl? Personally, i'd steer clear unless I had a squad of Spartans by my side, you know, like the ones found in the HALO video game franchise? (Thanks for the nerd edit Bearfoot!)

Hit the link and see the process from mere mortal to becoming this amazing alien creature.

Goofy Anime Adaptation Of Tomb Of Dracula

(YouTube Link)

Fans of the Marvel Comic series Tomb of Dracula were less than enthusiastic about this goofy anime version of their favorite comic when it came out in 1980.

Part 1 in a nutshell: Dracula takes off with Satan's girlfriend in an effort to keep Satan from getting it on. All six parts of this amazingly silly adaptation are on YouTube, watch them and see if it's anything like the silver age comic book series you remember.

Metroid Cosplay At Its Finest

This costume will have people rubbing their eyes to make sure they didn't imagine seeing the full scale sprite of Samus from the Nintendo game Metroid walking by.

Dan Cattell created these Metroid inspired sprite costumes, and Nintendo liked them so much they featured them in Nintendo Power magazine. Hit the link and see how cool Samus and a Chozo Statue look when they're about to battle it out!

Awful Retro Halloween Costumes

I remember seeing stacks of these awful things on the shelves when I was a youngster, and hearing parents say things like "look for the ones that say non-flammable" and "well, at least you can use the mask", as their kids stifled tears over their terribly disappointing selection of flimsy plastic costumes.

Browse through this gallery of awfulness and see just how good kids have it these days when it comes to Halloween costumes.

Awesome Hand Drawn Animation Video

(Vimeo Link)
This animated music video by Kijek/Adamski is really cool to watch, even if it makes you feel a bit seasick at times. The song "Pirate's Life" by We Cut Corners is pretty sweet too, but what's even cooler about this video is that the entire thing was hand drawn on paper with markers!
