The Perfectly Bizarre World Of Gramfel

Just when you thought the deconstruction of Jim Davis' classic comic strip Garfield was complete a new and infinitely more bizarre strip comes along and makes Garfield look as square as a litter box - Gramfel.

Gramfel is a cat, Gramfel is a being with strange powers, Gramfel is a comic strip seemingly created by someone who read Garfield comics while on an extremely powerful hallucinogen.

The hallucinatory artist behind Gramfel is named John Cullen, and he has a very interesting brain that comes up with some super interesting stuff, which he still manages to make relevant for Monday haters like me.

After visiting Gramfel and Jon no a few times your brain may start to feel like it's full of hairballs- this is a normal reaction to the radical concepts and philosophies presented by Gramfel and will not do any lasting damage.

I've read over twelve Gramfel strips and after a few aspirin and a tissue for my nosebleed I feel fine! *wink*

Add Some Geeky Flavor To Your Wardrobe With A NeatoShop T-Shirt

Clown by trheewood

People who don't like anything geeky are few and far between these days, and more often than not they're not in to the geeky stuff because they haven't been properly introduced.

Which is why it's good to wear your geeky passions and interests close to your heart, like on the front of a NeatoShop t-shirt, so you can share with others and possibly introduce them to a fun new pop culture affair!

The geeks officially took over a while ago

Video Games, Am I Right?!

Gamers- you should know better than to share your "wild but true" tales of video game adventures with people who don't play video games, especially if you're a big fan of Rated M titles like GTA or Skyrim.

Because, as this comic by Robb Mirsky shows, telling a non-gamer about the sick and twisted stuff you do in the privacy of your own game world might make them look at you a little differently, and may break your poor mother's heart. *sniff* Sorry for the things I did in GTA, mom...

Why Don't We Throw Trash In Volcanoes?

Waste management companies are only able to recycle or compost about a third of the 254 million tons of trash produced in America each year, so they're always looking for new ways to get rid of the trash we pay them to deal with.

So they start coming up with crazy notions about how to dispose of large quantities of trash quickly, typically via incineration, and what's better at incinerating stuff than a volcano, right?

As Hank Green shows us in this SciShow video throwing trash into a volcano is a terrible idea, for these reasons and many more:

Typically, volcano craters are filled with water—kind of like a mini-mountain lake—and sticking around to wait for a lava-spewing eruption would be hazardous, if not downright deadly, for garbage collectors. (Drilling down into the magma chamber isn’t much safer.)

It would also be expensive to send tons of trash to far-flung volcanoes, and we’d likely see an increase in our electric bills, since some regions burn trash in incineration plants and use the heat to make electricity.

Video Game Developers Confess Their Hidden Tricks At Last

Have you ever been in the middle of playing a video game and found yourself wondering something like "did the game just let my character live? Because I totally should have died" or "I swear I hit jump too late, and yet I didn't fall..."?

Every gamer has wondered about these odd game "quirks" at one time or another, and yet we've received very little confirmation from game developers over the years, leaving us feeling like we're nuts. Well guess what gamers- we're not crazy after all!

A designer from Opaque Space named Jennifer Schuerle tweeted out to game developers in hopes they would spill the beans about the hidden mechanics in their games, and they did not disappoint.

It's nice to know I wasn't imagining those quirks, and neat to know game developers actually enjoy going the extra mile by adding these cool mechanics so players will have even more fun playing their game.

A Flowchart To Help You Identify That Light In The Sky

When you go outside and see a bright light shining in the sky it's usually pretty easy to figure out where the light is coming from, especially during the day when the source of the light is the sun, aka that thing burning your retinas.

But if you keep staring at the night sky wondering what all those lights are out there you may be dealing with a possible alien abduction scenario, in which case you should stop reading and start hiding!

Everyone else who is curious about the lights they see in the sky should consult this flowchart by The League Of Lost Causes and figure out if that light is a meteor or a comet or an international space station.

Romeo And Juliet Recited In The Original Accent Of Shakespeare's Time

Actors and drama kids are always complaining about how hard it is to say the lines in Shakespeare's plays and how difficult it is to understand what the character's are saying. Well, imagine how much more those kids would whine if they had to say the lines using the original accent from Shakespeare's day!

In this video British actor Ben Crystal demonstrates how the actors would have sounded delivering the opening lines to Romeo and Juliet during the original performances in Shakespeare's London:

Wherever I go whatever age whether it’s eight years old or 80 years old and I say what accent does that remind you of and someone goes ‘Pirates of the Caribbean”… Shakespeare’s London was a melting pot of accents people would come from Norwich and Wales and Scotland and Ireland and Midlands and Somerset and pirate country and they come to London and their accents would all mix in together and then of course later on they’d go to Bristol and sail across to America and later still they’d be sent to Bristol and go down to Australia and that’s in part where those accents all come from

Mind Blowing Epilogues To Famous Photos

Famous photos capture iconic moments forever frozen in time, but without context these images are only telling part of the story, and when the full truth is revealed the pictures don't feel so heartwarming anymore.

Take the photo of volunteer firefighter David Tree giving water to a koala for example- it's used as a symbol of mankind's compassion for animals, but humans are most cruel to other humans so that sweet photo ruined David's life:

The public reaction to the photo was beyond negative, bordering on ferocious. Tree was mocked and insulted by a broad range of people, who accused him of various shenanigans, including but not limited to setting the photo up, abandoning the koala immediately after the picture was taken, and even flat-out neglecting his firefighting duties to mess around with some stupid animal.

Sure, Tree got positive attention too. He was honored in a multitude of ways, and even received a bronze sculpture of the photo from his hometown. However, humanity being reliably, awfully human, the statue was promptly vandalized, as was Tree's car. The stress of the constant negative attention turned Tree into an anxious wreck. He even quit his job when his boss started to give him crap about his "koala man" status.

He is presumably at home right now, grimly sewing a koala suit, plotting his revenge.

Epic Photos From Burning Man 2017

(Image Link)

Burning Man 2017 will unfortunately be remembered for a tragic reason, since 41-year-old Aaron Mitchell ran into one of the ritual bonfires and died of fatal burn wounds, but as usual there was lots of amazing artwork there too.

(Image Link)

So let's focus on the one indisputably good thing Burning Man brings to Nevada's Black Rock desert each year- the incredible artwork and art cars created by the creative attendees.

(Image Link)

This year there was a giant ballerina puppet controlled by crane, a shimmering squid and whale that got lost on the way to the ocean, and what can only be described as a post-apocalyptic concrete playground.

I'm honestly surprised more people don't get hurt or die each year at Burning Man...

Watch Ants Shoot Acid At A Person's Hand

Ants can really pack a wallop despite their tiny size, and legend has it some deadly swarms of ants have even been known to take down a full-sized human and strip the flesh from their bones with eerie efficiency.

But most ants don't want to eat people so they try to avoid conflict whenever possible by acting defensively rather than attacking, because they'd rather spit in a predator's eye and have them retreat than face them and lose numbers.

Nature Is Scary posted this video to Twitter showing what happens when the woodland ant perceives you as a threat:

They squirt formic acid from their abdomens, which smells like vinegar, to ward off hungry birds such as woodpeckers and jays

This Calf Was Born Ready To Join The KISS Army

Farmers and ranchers should be careful about what kind of music they play around their pregnant cows, or else they might end up with a herd that's part of the KISS Army.

This cute little KISS fan was born on July 28th on a ranch in Kerrville, Texas, and she was named Genie since her genes clearly modeled her facial markings after The Demon of KISS, Gene Simmons.

She likes to stick her tongue out like Gene too, and hopefully Genie will keep rockin' out to KISS even if her Demon face paint changes with age.

The Berry Club

It used to be a heck of a lot easier to figure out whether a piece of produce was a fruit or a vegetable, because people were inclined to keep the fruits fruity and the vegetables crisp and veggie.

But then some smarty pants started wondering why tomatoes were classified as veggies when they grow from the ovary in the base of the flower and contain the seeds of the plant, and the food reclassification war began.

According to this Mr. Lovenstein comic that was the beginning of "strange times" and the end of the Berry Club as we know it, and fruit salads would never taste the same again...

Little Gordon Ramsay Is A Real Doll

Gordon Ramsay developed his gruff attitude after growing up in the home of an abusive, alcoholic father, watching his brother struggle with drug abuse and working his way up through some of the toughest kitchens in the world.

Little Gordon Ramsay, on the other hand, was apparently just born an angry jerk, and if he keeps yelling at his mom like that she might stuff little Gordy in a 400 degree oven until crispy!

This silly little series by YouTuber hospitalityjobs was posted in 2008, which means little Gordon Ramsay is now a punk ass teenager...I wonder if all that rage stunted his growth?

The kid's got the mouth of a sailor but he's a pretty good little actor, and he even made an appearance as full sized adult Gordon on the cooking competition show Hell's Kitchen. Pretty cool kid! Here's part 3:

A Car Repossession Gone Wrong

Nobody likes to have their vehicle repossessed so people are always on the lookout for repo men hitching up rides in their hood, which is a good thing considering there are also many crooks out there posing as repo men.

And as you can see in this video footage shot by Brittany McDonald and James Harris there are also many crazy people out there who will go straight Road Warrior on you if you try to repossess their car:

When the tow truck driver tried to get away, the owner of the car jumped onto the truck to try and stop him.

"I just looked in the rear view mirror and saw black smoke and a guy rolling on the street. ... I didn't know what was going on," McDonald said.

Harris said it looked like the man was trying to unhook the car from the tow truck, but the driver kept going.

"He flipped off and chased him two or three blocks and somebody must have given him a ride and caught up to him," Harris said.

The owner of the car was holding a crowbar and smashed the rear window of the tow truck while the truck driver tried to escape, according to investigators. Sparks were flying from the vehicle as it was dragged for more than 10 minutes through the streets of Compton.

"A blessing nobody did get hit.. cars had to swerve and the car was spinning and people ran into trash cans parked on the side of the road. It was crazy. We were following, the tires actually came off ... we ran over tires as we recorded the video ... it was a sight to see," McDonald said.  (NSFW Language)

Romantic Gestures That Prove Love Is Blind (And Also Insane)

Love has made us all think and do stupid things, but the level of stupidity is directly affected by our age, mental health, experience with love and number of people in our corner helping us keep a cool head.

If the lover is older and more experienced with a solid friend base they normally won't take things too far but if they're young with little to no experience with love they may work way too hard to get someone to notice them.

Factors such as loneliness, self esteem issues and depression can also affect what people are willing to do to woo the object of their affection, and these mental health factors can also make our romantic gestures seem a bit sick.
