Taylor Swift Attacked At Grammys By Street Fighter Ryu

(Video Link)

You’ve probably heard all the gossip about the 2014 Grammys by now- Pharrell’s ridiculous Arby's looking hat, the godawful outfit worn by Madonna, Trent Reznor’s middle finger to the whole award show, and the Grammys in general, and of course the hilarious way Taylor Swift reacted to losing the Album of the Year.

But Taylor’s "react like I just won then clap awkwardly when I realize I didn’t actually win" moment was overshadowed by her piano rocking performance, which was totally hardcore thanks to a little help from Street Fighter’s Ryu. Watch as he kicks the young singer into action, keeping the beat with the bottom of his feet!

Ethereal Multiple Exposure Images Created By Japanese Taxi Driver

Double exposure images used to require re-threading and re-shooting the entire roll of film before developing to create a double exposure on each negative.

Now, thanks to digital editing software, creating a multiple exposure image doesn’t take as much time or effort, so the creation of a great multi-shot comes down to choosing the right subjects.

Those subjects are what makes the photos in Issui Enomoto's ethereal series, which are taken on the streets of Japan from Issui's taxi cab, so visually appealing and lends an otherworldly feel to the urban landscape.

NFL Logos Get The Football Club Treatment

For whatever reason Americans as a whole haven’t embraced Association football, the football that doesn't require wearing a helmet and bulky pads, but the artists and graphic designers behind Football As Football love both sports equally, and they're striving to bring that football club flavor to the NFL with their team logo re-designs.

The new logos are actually pretty cool, all bold and colorful, and they could easily be used by NFL teams in the future, but calling them football clubs when you're talking about pigskin tackle toss teams will probably get a bit confusing for soccer fans.

Artist Makes Everyday Objects Look Like Simple Line Drawings

Viewing the world in three dimensions is a state of mind, one which artist Cynthia Greig works to deconstruct with her series of photographs depicting everyday objects seemingly converted into 2D drawings.

With a simple coat of white paint, and black illustrative charcoal outlines along the edges, these household items go from dimensional to flat, if viewed from the proper angle with the right lighting.

However, when Cynthia adds a white background and properly lights the scene the solid objects in the photographs suddenly appear to be nothing more than line drawings. It's a simple, straightforward process that doesn't require any digital manipulation and creates a pretty cool optical effect.

You can see more of Cynthia's amazingly flat 3D works over at 22 Words.

Line The Walls Of Your Sanitarium With This Cthulhu Wallpaper

When H.P. Lovecraft was alive and busy writing his strange Cthulhu mythos related stories the face of horror was far simpler, and the wallpaper patterns were more complex.

Now people aren’t really into wallpapering anymore, but those who still enjoy plastering the walls of their haunted mansions or sanitariums will sell their souls for this awesome Cthulhu patterned material featuring an original design by artist Megan Rosalarian Gedris.

It’s sold by the yard as fabric, or as a roll of good old fashioned wallpaper, and even though it’s not fuzzy to the touch your brain will go a bit fuzzy if you stare at it too long, for idolization of the Great Old Ones comes at the cost of your sanity.

Mario Acting As The Anti-Hero In Other Video Games

Mario is such a universally recognized character that it’s surprising he doesn’t appear in more video game crossovers, but that probably all comes down to licensing and money.

However, fans of that super powered plumber and his string bean of a brother would simply adore the addition of the Bros. in games from all genres, but until that happens in real life we’ll just have to settle for staring at these amazing illustrations by Sebastian von Buchwald.

They feature one angry Mario, acting as anti-hero in games like Bioshock, Final Fantasy VII, Tomb Raider and Dragon’s Lair. Somehow seeing Mario acting like a bad little plumber just makes him look like Wario in disguise, maybe Mario should stick to being a good guy.

Creepy Horror Inspired Makeup Transformations

Women usually learn how to properly apply makeup when they’re teenagers, and further develop their skills as they get older, but generally speaking they haven’t mastered the skill by the time they graduate high school.

Makeup artist Stephanie Fernandez, however, was clearly born with innate makeup application skills, either that or she’s been practicing since kindergarten, because at just eighteen years old she's already creating looks worthy of appearing in Hollywood horror flicks.

Stephanie draws her inspiration from movies and popular culture, but most of her creations are truly unique and can't be traced back to one particular film since they're a product of her own twisted vision of dark beauty.

Truck Torrence Makes Horror Movie Icons Look Adorable

If you were to see a sample of Truck Torrence’s cutesy artwork you’d have no idea that most of his pieces are based on bloody, violent and mature rated movies like Predator, Drive, and Friday the 13th. But that’s the beauty of Truck’s style- mature content gets the cuteness treatment and it all becomes one big brightly colored bloodbath.

Not all gorehounds want their horror art to be rough around the edges, it’s refreshing to see some cute mixed in with the blood and guts every once in a while, and it's safe to say Truck has mastered this odd flavor combination in his illustrations.

Did Daft Punk Steal Their Act From The Earons?

(Video Link)

Daft Punk has gone from an obscure helmet sporting French synth duo to Grammy award winners and a household name, but did they steal their entire gimmick from obscure 80s group The Earons?

Both groups wear signature motorcycle helmets, funky futuristic outfits and play similarly funky synth tunes, but like any musical act with a fashion gimmick parallels are sure to be drawn between the modern group and some previous influence.

The similarities are pretty darn clear after watching the video, and since The Earons had but one album, which was released nearly thirty years ago, they seem like the perfect targets to emulate since it's unlikely anyone would ever uncover the truth. But let's face it, those hipsters the Earons were into being anonymized by their motorcycle helmets and playing spacy tunes way before it was cool.

Legendary Japanese Reverse Blade Sword Found In Storage Locker

Ancient Japanese legends tell of a strange blade, a relative of the katana, that has its razor sharp edge on top of the curve instead of below, a reverse blade which is meant to confound the enemy and make it harder for them to defend against in combat.

This blade is called a sakabato, and although it has been depicted in classic samurai fiction, anime series like Rurouni Kenshin, and recreated by geeky replica weapon designers it was thought to be nothing but a legend until a sakabato from the Edo period was discovered inside a storage locker. It appears not all legends are based on pure imagination, or else there's an incredibly talented, and nerdy, blacksmith out there making anime dreams come true!

Realistic Dog Sculptures Made Out Of Bicycle Chains

Dogs can be a real pain in the neck to have around the house- they're always getting into the trash, tearing up your favorite shoes, licking themselves when you have company and soiling the carpets like uncivilized boors.

They look all cute and cuddly, but what if you want a dog to look at without all the mess? Maybe you need one of these amazingly realistic sculptures by Israeli artist Nirit Levav, which she makes out of bicycle chains in life-size scale.

From a tiny Yorkshire Terrier to a large Siberian Husky, these dogs sit around all day looking cute without all the stink, and the only mess they'll leave on the carpet is a rust stain if you get them wet!

Check out the rest of these amazing sculptures at DesignTAXI.

Take A Video Tour Of Japan's Cat Cafes

(Video Link)

YouTuber Sharla in Japan is a Canadian student attending school in Japan and sharing all of her amazing discoveries with the world by posting videos online. Her latest cultural exploration deals with what is (arguably) the greatest trend in Japanese themed dining- Cat Cafes, where people can go and hang out with some furry felines while they chow down on whatever the cats don't take right out of their hands!

Cat Cafes look like a nightmare for the allergic, a great place for dieters to dine because the cats will make sure they can't dine in peace, and absolute nirvana for those who can't have a cat but love to be surrounded by kitties of all shapes, colors and sizes. I can't help but wonder-how do these cafes handle the whole litter box arrangement?

Awesome Poster Art For 300 - Rise Of An Empire By Alex Pardee

The film 300, based on the Frank Miller/Lynn Varley graphic novel of the same name, is full of battles, bloodshed and masculine bravado as befitting a film about ancient Sparta and the Battle of Thermopylae. Frank Miller has been working on a graphic novel sequel entitled Xerxes for the last three years, and now it's set to come out some time after the sequel film entitled 300:Rise of an Empire.

Legendary Films turned to illustrator Alex Pardee when they needed a suitably epic poster for the film's premier, and Alex definitely didn't disappoint with his appropriately gruesome design for what's already being called "the bloodiest film of the year".
